Vision and mission of the Task Force

Vision of the task force:

Treatment aimed at improving the long-term outlook of children with heart disease requires the development of adequate drug treatment for common problems in these, including:

  • neurodevelopmental problems
  • impaired exercise tolerance
  • circulatory failure
  • cardiac arrhythmias

Mission of the task force:

The task force on clinical drug trials within the AEPC is dedicated to:

  • Provide the paediatric cardiology platform for clinical drug research
  • Contribute to improve , generalize and harmonize existing good practice
  • Improve trial design
  • Consistent delivery of high quality data
  • Integrate perspectives / needs of children and their families’ into the process
  • For this purpose we join forces with patients, scientists from adjacent fields, public funders, pharma industry and regulators
