For 2020 we will continue the successful fellow exchange program in Japan in collaboration with the Japanese society of pediatric cardiology and surgery (JPCCS).
Junior members from the AEPC can apply for this fellow exchange program and three of them will be selected to visit a pediatric cardiology institute in Japan for a training period of 4 weeks between October 2019 and August 2020. Also three fellows from Japan will visit European institutes in the same period.
If you are interested to apply for the exchange program you have to provide a letter of intent with your major scientific/clinical interests, a short CV, and a signed letter of support by your supervisor allowing you to visit Japan for 4 weeks. The deadline for the application is September 15th 2019. Once you are selected, you will be appointed to one of the three host institutes in Japan. You can then plan the best time slot for the visit to Japan in consultation with your host institute. The AEPC is paying the ticket to Japan as well as 1000 euro pocket money to cover for accommodation and daily expenses. You will have to pay in advance and get reimbursed. The host institute can help you find cheap accommodation during your stay. The AEPC and JPCCS are both supporting this exchange program to create opportunities for the professional careers of its junior members and to promote international collaboration.
