Last updates Mar 27, 2024

The AEPC Basic Course in Paediatric Echocardiography, co-organized by the AEPC Imaging Working Group, will take place from 29-31 May 2024, in Lund, Sweden.

The course aims at pediatric cardiologists, neonatologists, pediatricians, trainees, biomedical scientists, and other healthcare professionals in Europe and worldwide, who share a common interest in the use of imaging for diagnosis and management of children with congenital heart disease.

The faculty of local and internationally renowned cardiologists and imagers will cover the theoretical basics including ultrasound physics, Doppler, and image optimization as well as how to systematically perform and identify structures in a standard pediatric echocardiogram. The course will cover functional assessment including strain as well as the most common defects. Finally, there will be an introduction to more complex lesions as well as 3D imaging. The faculty will share their insights through lectures, discussions, and morphological demonstrations. The course will end with a mock examination to test your newly acquired knowledge.

This course is a great starting point for those seeking to take the accreditation exam organized by EACVI/AEPC for Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography.
